This afternoon, after a completely perfect day, Dawn had a stroke and passed away at age 28. We are all still in shock over it.
Dawn had a working life in the mountains of North Carolina and when it was time for her to retire from that career, she was purchased by a wonderful woman who spent the next few years leisurely trail riding her. When it was time for permanent retirement, they found Ferrell Hollow Farm :) It has been a pleasure caring for Dawn for the past 4 1/2 years. We had been very successful managing her Insulin Resistance, especially now that she had a life of leisure! Dawn, I miss you, Siegfried misses you, Rachel misses you and especially Joan and Steve miss you. I know that you are now standing in lush grass, eating to your hearts desire!
